Design in the Dale
The Design in the Dale group was established in 2018 in order to consider greenspace and arts within the Leverndale Hospital Campus. The group includes clinicians, volunteers, artists and operations staff who take forward projects on the hospital site and work closely with patients, community organisations and charities.
Design in the Dale works to enhance the experience of Leverndale Hospital’s in-patient community by welcoming arts into the hospital and improving the aesthetic appeal of the local environment for all. Volunteers attend committee meetings, share their skill set with the group, and contribute to the development and delivery of workplans.
Stage 1 at Leverndale
In Stage 1, Design in the Dale worked with the Green Exercise Partnership, Landscape Architects ERZ and Commissioned Public Artist / Designer Lindsay Perth to re-design outdoor spaces within the hospital campus. The aim of Stage 1 partnerships and public art commissions was to create outdoor destination spaces within the campus, which provide a range of exercise opportunities, improve biodiversity and create social spaces and places for relaxation and reflection.
