Welcome to Biscuit Tint

Biscuit Tint is a platform to show the rich and colourful creative work made in collaborative creative workshops between patients, staff and Public Artist/ Designer Lindsay Perth at Leverndale Hospital, Glasgow which took place over 2022-23.

These collaborative workshops were the final part of the patient and staff engagement for Design in the Dale’s Stage 1 development across the hospital grounds.

Initial research began during Perth’s Public Art Commission in 2020 which included creative workshops with patients and staff to explore ideas to enhance the hospital grounds and develop creative way-finding. The Biscuit Tint workshops followed on from the completed commission.

These workshops gave opportunity for patients, staff and Perth to connect and reflect on Design in the Dale’s Stage 1 development of Leverndale’s hospital grounds through photomontage, creative thinking, storytelling and mark-making.

Images produced are rich, sensitive, humorous in tone and are a dynamic and colourful body of patient work. The zine is designed in a way that encourages people to draw and add to the images. It seeks to invite others to make their own mark with the joy of drawing!
